Walking More: the single best way most Canadians can improve their health

Research suggests sitting is the new smoking and that our sedentary lives are making us sick and possibly taking years off our lives. We also know an hour of dedicated exercise time each day, while beneficial for our health, does not counter being sedentary the rest of the day. It’s vital that we get up and move throughout the day, and walking more is an easy way to do it. In fact, it’s likely the single best thing most Canadians can do to enhance their health.
